Trafalgar Square Christmas Tree, 03 December 2009 – 05 January 2010

The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place this year on 3 December at Trafalgar Square followed by a season of carol singing.  The tree is a gift to the people of London from Norway, which has been given by the Norwegian capital Oslo as a token of gratitude for Britain’s support during World War II.  The tree will remain in Trafalgar Square until 5 January 2010, after which it will be recycled.

On Saturday 13th December there will be a commemorative Thames Cutters Frost Fair River Procession.  The Siberian huskies also make a return this year!
