The Annual Great River Race is London’s River Marathon. Taking place on Saturday 5th September, the course is a grueling 22 miles from start to finish. Attracting over 300 crews from around the world, teams are run on handicap calculated by architechs specifications and computers, with the slowest teams starting first and the fastest teams starting last, always giving a close finish at the end! The teams compete in a wide variety of boats, including wherries, war canoes, Cornish gigs and Chinese dragonboats.
